Initially conceived as a tribute to the NY Flamenco Reunion project, this ensemble features a repertoire primarily made up of standards such as Evidence, You Stepped Out of a Dream, or Bésame Mucho, interpreted through a flamenco lens. Over time, the group added flamenco jazz pieces like Paco de Lucía’s Zyriab and works by Alicante-born bassist Miquel Álvarez. The repertoire also includes original compositions based on flamenco palos.
The result is an energetic and captivating proposal that pays homage to musicians in the country who have found their voice through the fusion of jazz and flamenco.
The ensemble features Álvaro Garrido Pastor on alto and soprano saxophones, Joan Mominó Vargas on trumpet, José Carlos González Herrada on drums, Juan Pablo Egúsquiza Franco on double bass, and Bernat Garcés Toril on piano.
